Convocation is a sacrosanct ceremony at a business school. It is a time for students to wear the black gown and walk up to the dais to receive their Post Graduate Diplomas in Management. The students are now ready to embark upon the career paths and make their mark on the business world.

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur, held its 3rd Annual Convocation on 25th April 2010 for its graduating batches of PGDM (2008-10) and PGDM Retail (2008-10). Altogether 81 students who successfully completed their PGDM programmes were awarded diplomas amidst a solemn affair.
The occasion was graced by Dr. C.P. Joshi- Honorable Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj as the Chief Guest.
Shri Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman of JIMJ Board of Governors, declared open the Convocation ceremony.The ceremony commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation to Goddess Saraswati.
Shri Sharad Jaipuria welcomed the Chief Guest and the distinguished congregation at the occasion and congratulated the student community. He spoke on the importance of passion in personal and professional life and explained how a combination of professional as well as entrepreneurial spirit is a need of the hour. “Success is not an overnight phenomenon”, he said. It calls for utmost sincerity and dedication. He urged the graduating batch to carry the values and never-ending thirst for knowledge instilled by the institution into their professional lives. He instructed the graduating students to not rest on their laurels, but keep performing to the best of their abilities.
He conferred diplomas on the outgoing young managers. Meritorious students were awarded medals for their outstanding performance by Dr. C P Joshi. The awards of merit are as under-

Delivering the Convocation address Dr. C.P. Joshi called upon the graduating batch to make full use of the opportunities that the country offers them and to align personal objectives with the growth impulses of the country. He said that "the impact of management educational on students should be holistic in nature and should lead to their all round development.” He commended JIMJ in imparting to students not only quality management education but also involving them in social responsibility initiatives. This is an innovative way to train the budding business manager for an inclusive growth approach.

Ms. Anjali Jaipuria, Vice Chairperson of JIMJ Board of Governors, delivered the Founder’s Message. In her enlightening words she said, “Success requires the courage to innovate, courage to experiment and above all the courage to accept failures.” In the end she proposed a vote of thanks.
Dr. C.P. Joshi released the quarterly newsletter of JIMJ “InSight” Volume 4 No.1.
The ceremony culminated with the rendering of National anthem.
It was a day of fond remembrance and pride for the young management graduates who received their degrees in the ceremony with the board of governors, the director, the faculty members and the proud parents in attendance. Students were upbeat and expressed their elation by throwing their hats up in the air
